NS dodger

read this on the paper yesterday, a 18 year old kid from perlis got selected for the NS programme, for those who is not familiar with NS, it is the National Service. He was selected, but he didn't go because he has to stay back and work to support his family, his mother is old, she wash dishes for 150 a month, this kid works in the padi field for 30 bucks a day, so he's badly needed at home to support his family( he still has 2 younger siblings, his father left them). So he was taken to court, and fined 600 bucks for dodging NS, but he's got no money, so he was sentenced to jail, poor kid, so now wat's the moral of the story?? this really evoke some sympathy, but our Menteri has already said last time, no one will be spared from the punishment if one dodge the training. according to a report, perlis umno ppl offered to pay the 600 fine. it's so contradicting, the whole idea of the punishment is to make sure ppl don't dodge the training and now yet ppl from the government offer to pay the fine for dodging the training. I think the whole random selection system is the problem, NS selection is still based on computer;s random selection. I think the government need to fix this. Don't you?
