Life in Penang

This is my 2nd week here in penang and all is well so far, still feeling alittle out of place in the office but am starting to get used to it. Met a couple of new guys from other department and am getting along with them better than my colleagues in the same department. So now I have people who I can have lunch with outside the office *wave hands in the air*. Getting real sick with the office food.
Now let me see, I've been here for 13 days, and so far I've not been to any other place other than office, my sis' house, cybercafes, Tesco, food outlet, perangin mall and USM. I'd like to visit more places but having the idea of exploring alone just does not appeal that much. Anyways, Penang and Kuching, what are the differences? Number 1 has got to be the traffic, they have some serious traffic problems here, there are so many cars, motorcycles, people...they're everywhere. Kuching is alot better on that department, you dont often get stressed out driving on the roads of kuching. The shopping malls in Penang win hands down, Malls in kuching dont even come close. Parking now thats something I must try to get used to in Penang, everywhere you park, you need to pay, be it council assigned or self-assigned(meaning illegal wan la), the so called self-assigned one, yea even though they are not authorized to collect parking money from you but would you feel safe leaving your car there and not paying them? yea 99% of people would pay.I guess thats the culture here.

Well I am staying with my sister and it's a nice place with pretty good view, I've got the lush green hills behind me and the blue open sea infront of me. The only thing is you can't really sleep till very late cause there's this construction going on even on weekends, at 8am sharp they would start their machines and they are loud!

well, there's been some change to the plan of my US trip, it will be delayed to 30th september due to some issues. Well I've sorted out my US visa last thursday, and should be granted a limited travelling visa, it was intimidating, i mean the visit to the US embassy, the lines were long, the interview was strict and straight-foward. But I passed!
