Church issue

Before i start, i would just like to let you all know i have nothing against christianity nor am i anti-christ. This post has no intention of what-so-ever to insult, critisize, hurt or undermine anyone. This post is an opinion of my own on the things that i observed. I might be wrong, so if anyone is knowledgeable enough about this issue, please do enlighten me.
.
.
.
I am quite concern about the growing numbers of different churches in and around kuching. If you were to drive around kuching, I am quite sure you would be able to see churches bearing different names and they are usually situated in shop-houses. These churches have quite a peculiar name and to me, its a peculiar sight. I thought churches should look like eer...a church, not a shop-house, which look like a tuition center, or what not.

shouldn't a church look like this?

instead it look like a tuition center

I am not even sure whether these churches are valid or not, i mean how easy/difficult is it to set up a church? it seems to me that it is not that difficult after all, seeing the number of churches that has emerged. Are they even legal? yea, its written in their signboard that they are christian church, but are they really studying the teachings of Jesus?

I really do wonder what activities are held in these churches, unlike the normal church, they are enclosed in a shop house, people aren't able to see what is happening inside, the church that i know is...er...open, well they are not enclosed.

Somehow, it look as though christianity is very much divided, with so many different churches, names and practise. I am really sceptical about it.

Well i guess if all of them are set up for a good reason, like spreading the word of Jesus, helping the poor souls out there to find peace within, then it is fine.

Again, i must let all of you know i am not against christian religion, its just these churches that pops out like mushrooms that bothers me.

change

Changes happen all the time, some for the good, some for the worst. When we are given the chance to make a change, be in it relationship, profession, or what not, should we seize it or just let it slip? I personally don’t feel so comfortable in changes, not used to wander off my comfort zone. But changes also bring opportunity, things might be better. Hell why do I sound so depress?? Anyway, things are about to change, yes yes yes, I’ve just been transferred to another group in my company, no longer in project group, hello product group, here I come. I will anyhow still be under my current supervisor, no change there, I still report to him. But my job spec has changed, what I used to do is about front-end process, etc design rules, design library and so on. Now I will need to work more on back-end process, etc CVD, plasma etch, implantation and so on. So the big question is, is this good? I don’t know, but I don’t really have a choice do I? well, the thing is, this will all be temporary, I will with product group for half a year to 1. wish me luck now.

Trip coverage: Mount santubong

Trip coverage: Mount Santubong

Participants: bunny,wen,seb,Sylvia,Karen and colina

Eternal damnation to the rain, you’ve got the whole day to choose from, instead you choose to start at 7pm, that’s when the Liverpool Vs Mu match kick off….ggrr….when it rains I can’t watch any shit on astro, which btw why can’t you astro people make your satellite dish in a “rain-resistance” way??ha? ha?
Anyways with the rain, I’m stuck here in front of my pc typing out the santubong trip. From the initial 4 participants, in the end Seb and Sylvia came to their senses and decided to join us for the 9 hours hike.

This is the challenge of the day

behind left to right:wen,me,seb,sylvia
front left to right:karen.colina

We started our climb at around 9.45am, it was a good day to climb, hot and dry. Colina and wen lead the pack, followed by me & Karen and behind us Sylvia & seb. The very impatient colina and wen sped of creating a distance between us.

wen and colina

view from half way

our trek

me and the gals

5 minutes into the climb, Karen started to feel tired. The trail at first was not that difficult, just normal forest terrain, some where at the 1st point, we met this 3 elderly people, around 50 years or so, consider elderly or not ah? Man!! they are strong, don’t know when I am 50 will I still be able to hike mountain or not.

quite a view

Anyways, we continue and met our 1st ladder, the girls were terrified, mind you, the distance between each step is big, people with short leg will find it difficult to climb the wooden-unstable-shaky-vertical ladder, 8-10 steps each ladder, there must be around 10 of those ladders throughout the course, going up is difficult enough, but coming down from the ladder the ladder is the most challenging of all. Colina dna Karen were having lots of problem coming doen the ladder(they are short, no pun intended) Sylvia is a tall gal, so she did okay.

chilling out at 1 of the stop point

the damn ladder

We started out late and more time were lost due to our slow hike, nevertheless we reach the top successfully, took a lot of photos on top (as proof that we really did reach the top), had out self-packed lunch, stayed there for like 30 minutes and started our descent.

proof that we made it

our lunch

It was 230pm when we started, we were late already, we are racing against the sun, hoping we will get down before it does. Going down is much more difficult for the gals, they were terrified with the evil ladder. Each of us guys were looking after 1 gal each, colina and wen were in front, Sylvia and seb followed closely, me and Karen were way behind, making little progress. Eventually it was only me and her, we can’t even see or hear the rest of the geng anymore, not even colina’s loud rant and laugh (she was ranting and laughing all the way up and down)

going down is no easy job

It was getting dark and karen’s really scared, I can see she wants to cry already (why ah?together with me no feel safe ahh?? *sob sob*) to make things worst, she’s feeling dizzy and can’t walk already. I was also scared already, but of course didn’t show it la, need to be HERO mah. I kep on urging her forward and finally manages to reach just before the sunset.Thank God.

we love 100 plus

We love 100 plus too

we love wrestling

the gals...

and their respective scratches and bruises

time to go home

Had our dinner at buntal, all of us must have downed a total of 24 cans of 100 plus. After we ate, we went home and that wraps the trip to santubong.

Quote of the day: “we should do this more” said seb when we just started climbing.

“we should not do this anymore” said seb when we were climbing down.

I'm alive!!

I’m back from mount santubong safe and sound, all still in 1 piece. Will give a full coverage of the trip asap. In short, the trip was FUN!! Its quite a challenging course, nevertheless all of us got to the top and down safe, some minor falls, bruises and scratches, nothing big enough to brag about. All in all a successful trip, will be organizing more of such trip in future seeing the enormous support that I get, it was initially 4 of us going but in the last minute, seb and Sylvia decided to join in. ok ok, will give full updates and photos soon

My santubong trip

seems like not many people like mountain hiking, after weeks of persuasion and begging, only 4 of us are going to the trip, the rest of our colleagues are either too old, scared of leeches and what not thus resulting them "unable" to join us for the hike.

anyway, initially seeing it that there's only 4 of us going, i thought of canceling the trip completely, but seeing that karen bought a new shoe just for it we might as well not disappoint anyone and go on with the trip.

we have heard news over the years that hikers do get lost and some were never found, not even their bodies or so my friend told me. Just to scare me i don't know, but my friends have a liking of scaring me. But to be safe, i am asking for your help, dear readers who know me, please please do call the police and file for a major search party if you don't see any updates on my blog 2 days after the trip, btw the trip is on saturday. Terima Kasih.

My friend is a shit!

It is wonderful to hear that my good friend william is expecting his first child early next year, which sound so similar to buying a Myvi in kuching.

salesperson: hi sir, interested in buying myvi? it has 2 air-bag, ABS, good car, value for money.
me: ic ic so how if i book now, when can i get the car?
salesperson: in 9 months time sir.

i thought only making a baby need such long time, even making a car these days also need such long time.
william was my classmate back in high school, he just got married last year, i being the chauffeur of honour. we were all excited and happy for it being the 1st wedding among our close friends. Soon, he will be a daddy, and i don't even have a girlfriend yet!! my friends ask me why i don't have a girlfriend yet, i among all people would really like to know why too. Most of friends are in a relationship now, most are complaining. Take tin for example, 1 sms from his GF and he had to rush to her house to attend her tantrum, "if you don't come now, you don't ever have to come anymore" was the tactic used, he fell for it. His GF is quite possesive of him, she needs him to be with her all the time, just like shit to flies. My friend the shit, his GF the fly.

I've got nothing to blog about

I think there must be some sporting event in the germ world, Olympic for germs I think, cause everyone in the office seems to be sick or looks like going to fall sick, everyone seems to be having running nose, and they sure are running fast, must be 100m olympic champion nose, spreading the running nose baton to almost everyone in the office....except me of course....i'm am a strong man....a real man! i'm proud of my normal walking nose.

well atmosphere in the office is much nicer after the departure of KY, it just seem so much peaceful...no more sarcastic remarks from him.....ho ho....see who's having the last laugh. only real man survive....i am a real man!

All the seniors, my supervisor included are all on leave....which leaves me and my junior to handle the operation section, man!! so freaking big responsibility, i am actually the commander in charge of operation, tackling all inquiries and problems brought up by customers. so far doing a good job, or so i think.....facing all troubles head on....the real man!!

received a phone call from ahliam today, his wife is expecting, 4 months pregnant....all right!! way the go man!! being 24 years old and expecting to have your 1st child is just mind blowing man...no doubt he will be a good father, a loving father.....showering children with nothing but love, i think we should never raise our hand at children, for it exposes our mid-section, a straight punch and we're down.

damn!! there's something wrong with the braking system of my car....it's leaking oil....changing the who brake pump will cost me approx 300.....just when i though i have extra money to spend from the 50% reduction in road tax. things around me seem to break down when i have the little extra money...end up not saving a single cent to my "get-a-wife" piggy bank... ahliam spent 20++k on his wedding...damn having a wife sure is expensive.....will i ever afford 1? give discount can?

planning on mountain hiking next weekend with my colleagues....dono whether will the plan go ahead or not....still not getting alot of participation from fellow colleagues....only 5 of us confirmed.....get off ur lazy ass and exercise....feel mother nature!!

Thanks for tuning in....bye

what has the world become??

this is going to be a short entry, was flipping through the newspaper this morning and saw some sickening news, 2 actually. A woman came back home to find her husband lying on top of their 10 year old daughter, "rubbing" his body against his own daughters', the outraged woman went to the kitchen, took the chopping knife and hack her husband, causing injuries to his right arm, i mean WHATS WRONG WITH WORLD??how can the wife hack the husband for just doing that?.....JUST KIDDING......i mean how can a father do such a thing to his own daughter??thats just sickening. In another news, an unemployed man (why is it always the unemployed doing bad things?) rape his own sister, ohhh man...thats your own sister god damn it!
something is wrong with the world, all this incidents make those men who hire services of prostitute look like HEROs, you tell me, you tell me, whats wrong ah?

Stare at gals

Men are born with the incurable habit of staring at gals, it is the inborn talent and often men get into trouble with this gift of his. I’m somewhat free in the office today and I’ve thought of ideas on how to prevent the attack from your girl friend when caught in the act (staring at gals). The magic solution is to stare at your subject and at the same time involve your gf. It is universally known that woman love to be complimented, wow!! your hair looks nice today, nice dress you’re wearing, you smell wonderful today, but of course you’ve got to have the sincere look when saying all this, if for any reason your gf thinks that you’re not being sincere when you’re complementing then you’re in for a big trouble. Anyways, what’s not universally known is those women equally love to hear bad things about other gals. This is their weakness and we much use it to our advantage.

What you can do is, when you spotted a pretty gal and you have your gf tagging along, you could say “hey look at that gal, she’s got a bad taste for hair style” and your gf might say “it’s not so bad wat” then you could go for the killer blow by saying “unlike her, your hair style is just superb” and your gf would be happily smiling not knowing you’ve just hit 2 birds with 1 stone, manage to get a good few minutes look at a pretty gal and get on the good side of your gf. But always remember this, this tactic only applies when you are the 1 who spotted the gal 1st, by all means if its your gf who 1st spotted the gal then automatically she will turn towards you to check if your looking, diminishing any chance of using that strategy. so it’s better not to react if she’s the one who 1st spotted the gal. a thing to take note is that never go overboard with the criticism, for eg, “she looks ugly”, “she looks fat” your gf not blind wan ok…if you think the gal is pretty(which is why you look) your gf most likely feel the same too.

Isn’t this the smartest idea? Or is this why I don’t have a gf and gals stay away from me, my intelligence has bring me down once again, it is my curse. Gals who read this will probably hate me for figuring out ways to help their bf stare at other gals under their nose. I’ve just revealed one of my greatest tactics, hope my gf to be does not read this, if she did, I hope she’s got a good sense of humor.

Typical night outing in kuching

Kuching is unofficially the 4th largest city in malaysia, after KL (obviously), Penang and JB. And being one of the larger cities in malaysia, you'd expect a very happening night life, activities every now and then here and there, but i beg to differ, i don't know about other people, ah bengs and ah lians might be having time of their life shaking their asses in the pub, night club, disco etc etc but to me i feel that night life in kuching is like my social life, near non-existance. I don't go disco and shake my ass, never really like going this kind of place (yup, I'm a potentialy good husband, so call me gals!!) and i don't drink, my face will turn red after the first sip faster than you saying oh-my-god-bunny-is-so handsome. My typical night life would be sitting at home, staring at the wall, writing blogs, watching TV or just plain doing nothing. To demonstate a typical average joe's(thats us) night out in kuching, here's what we did last night, me and my good ol' friends. We went out for dinner celebrating tin's belated birthday, nothing out of the ordinary, just a simple chinese style dinner, after that, we sit there looking at each other, having no idea or what so ever in our mind where to go next, and it was only 830pm, tin being the bday boy was forced to think of a place to go, mr."happeneing" suggested going out for a drink, and so we did, went to this bangsar version kinda place and had our beer there. For those who never drank with me, even i get red-faced fast but sure as hell i can drink alot, i drank like 5 cans in one go last night, for those who drank with me last night, please ignore this lie. So after the drinking session, yes you guessed it right,we went straight home.

That's actually a typical night out with my friends, sitting for hours in the coffee shop, with 1 drink for the whole night, sitting there, feels like we're waiting, waiting for what i'm not sure, for money to drop from the sky i think.

Malaysia Space Program

The year 2020, I will be 39 years of age, Malaysia will be a 1st world country (fingers cross) and Malaysia will send someone to the moon. It is the dream of malaysian government to send it's 1st citizen to outer space eating nasi lemak and playing congkak. If my math is still reliable, that’s like 15 years from now. Not really a distant future, but still distant enough to make it a blur image of what I would be in 15 years time, sadly alone? Or happily married? Or is it actually happy bachelor or miserably married. Hhmm….back to the topic at hand, 894 people all over Malaysia will be taking part in the first ever Malaysian space program, all the participants will need to complete a 3.5km run in just 20 minutes in order to proceed to the next round, being quite a sports loving person myself, I find that challenging, I think I can run 3.5km in under 20 minutes (self confidence is good) but that was years ago, sadly I cannot say the same now as I can see my good ol’ tummy is beginning to show its might, it is starting to emerge (oh my god!) Anyways, Malaysia is planning to send our 1st astronaut to space in 2007 with a Russian space ship. This is part of collaboration with the Russian after our government bought some Russian fighter jet for 800 million dollar. My colleague, colina happens to be 1 of the 894 participants. The 1st session was last week in Kuantan, and the following session will be held tomorrow in Subang, Klang, Butterworth, Sarawak and Sabah. I wanted to go and have a look at the run, taking some pictures but colina told me visitors are not allowed, furthermore the run will be held in Kem Penrissen (it’s a MILITARY camp), my balls are not big enough for me to trespass into a MILITARY camp, there are soldiers carrying guns in there if you haven’t notice, I think they wouldn’t hesitate to shoot me thinking that I am a Singaporean spy collecting information about Malaysian Space program. Continuing on the story, only those who manages to complete the run in the stipulated time will be proceeding to the next test, stringent medical and aero-physiological test will be conducted next, GODS know what are those test, and from the test, they will select the finest 5-10 to have more TEST in Russia, my god when will the test end, its test after test, and after more test in Russia I assume, only 2 will be selected to go for the training and only 1 lucky bastard(sorry I think a guy will be selected) will go to space in 2007. After that lucky bastard comes back space, I will bet on my bottom dollar that he(84% of the participants are men, sorry gals the first Malaysian in space will be a man) will be given a Datuk-ship if there is such a word, he will be given land and heralded as a Malaysian HERO…damn I want to be a hero too….well at least I think Ranger regard me as a hero, cause she looks up to me all the time (Ranger is my dog if you don’t know, and she’s short). Colina is not much of an athlete, and she only started her training last week, she said she can finish 3km in 25 mins, but she would vomit after that (yuck!!), so much so for her journey in the space program, I think she will not make it (I am being honest here), but nevertheless, I wish her good luck and may the force be with her, cause she sure do need all the luck and the force.

Wooohooo I am the 842,276,844th richest person in the world!!

Every year we are eager to see The Forbes list on whether Bill Gates manage to defend his title of the richest person in the world and not surprisingly he manages to. Fully knowing myself, I know i will never make it to the top 10 of The Forbes rich list, So I did a little survey myself, curious of where i stand in the world rich list, and the result is quite surprising, i am not that poor after all, I thought my puny salary would land me in the bottom half of the poor <--> rich scale.
I was wrong, i am on the top half of the scale...yuuuhoooo!!! feel so rich suddenly, maybe i should buy that pen drive that i wanted to but thought i couldn't afford, but now since i am on the top half, i guess i can afford it after all. According to the site, there are 5,157,723,156 poorer than me, and to think i am poor, phew! i am doing ok actually.
You can find out how you rank, i bet you are richer than me. Check it out at http://www.globalrichlist.com/
